Online Store

This guide provides step-by-step instructions on creating and managing an online store using Pulsar’s inventory control system. The manual covers setup, product catalog integration, store design, and promotional strategies to help you maximize sales and customer engagement.

1. What is an Online Store?

An online store allows your business to take orders from customers via phone, email, or directly through the website. It provides a brief overview of your store, including a price list for selected products. The product data will be updated automatically from the catalog in the cloud, so there’s no need to manually create product cards for the online store.

Benefits

  • ✅ Expand customer base
  • ✅ Take orders 24/7
  • ✅ Sync product data automatically
  • ✅ Display selected product groups
  • ✅ Easy customer access through a QR code

2. Creating an Online Store

Step 1: Website Address and Activation

Start by setting up a unique website address for your store.

Only Latin letters and digits are allowed.

Recommended format: XXX.shop.com (where XXX is the unique store name).

Keep the name simple and easy to remember.

Email for Orders

Specify the email address to receive customer orders.

Double-check for accuracy - incorrect emails will result in lost orders.

QR Code

Generated automatically once the website is created.

Place the QR code on:

  • 🔹POS terminals
  • 🔹Store doors
  • 🔹Promotional handouts

Customers can scan the code to be directed to the store.

Step 2: Product Catalog Setup

Select the store whose product data will be used in the online store.

Only one store can be linked at a time.

Choose the product categories to display in the store.

Create a clear, three-level group structure for better navigation.

Example:

  • 🔹Food
    • 🔹Dairy Products
      • 🔹Milk
      • 🔹Cheese

Displayed Product Information:

  • 🔹Name
  • 🔹Description
  • 🔹Price
  • 🔹Unit of Measure
  • 🔹Product Code
  • 🔹Photo

Synchronization:

  • 🔹Product information (name, price, description) is updated from the catalog.
  • 🔹Updates between the catalog and the store may take up to 7 minutes.

Zero Balance Display:

  • ✅ Show zero balance: Recommended for grocery and regular supply items.
  • ❌ Hide zero balance: Recommended for clothing, jewelry, or non-regular supply items.

💡 Tip: Avoid adding too many products - a large catalog can overwhelm customers.

Step 3: Main Page Design

The main page of the online store gives the customer an overview of what is available and how to order.

Include:

  • ✅ Store name and short description
  • ✅ Contact information
  • ✅ Ordering, delivery, and payment methods
  • ✅ Cover photo

Template Usage:

Use a pre-designed template or create your own.

Add or remove blocks as needed.

Divide text into sections for easier readability.

Save changes to apply updates.

Preview the store via the website link before publishing.

3. Managing Products in the Online Store

Adding Products

Go to Product Catalog tab.

Select the desired store from the list.

Use the checkboxes to choose the product groups you want to allow for the store.

4. Online Store Promotion

Creating an online store alone will not attract customers. You need to actively promote it using a mix of offline and online methods.

Offline Promotion

  • ✅ Place QR codes on store doors, terminals, and receipts
  • ✅ Print booklets with QR codes and distribute them locally
  • ✅ Include the QR code in business cards

Online Promotion

  • ✅ Send newsletters with store links to existing customers
  • ✅ Create social media posts with the QR code and link
  • ✅ Partner with influencers or local groups for exposure

Example Promotion Campaign:

Design a flyer with store details and QR code.

Include a discount code to encourage scanning.

Send email newsletters with links to the store.

Post on social media with a clear call to action.

5. Orders and Payments

Receiving Orders:

Orders are sent to the email specified in the store settings.

Ensure the email is correct to avoid missing orders.

Payment Options:

Cash on Delivery (COD)

Online Payment (credit card, mobile wallet)

Order Processing Workflow:

  • 🔹Customer places an order via the store.
  • 🔹Notification is sent to the registered email.
  • 🔹Store staff confirms the order.
  • 🔹Products are packed and prepared for delivery.
  • 🔹Delivery and payment processing are completed.

6. Monitoring and Reports

Performance Tracking:

  • 🔹Track order volume and sales.
  • 🔹Analyze customer behavior and trends.
  • 🔹Adjust product pricing and availability based on demand.

Product Movement Reports:

  • 🔹Track sales and stock movement.
  • 🔹Identify top-performing products.
